The New Normal is here to stay

There is anecdotal evidence that payments changed in some way for almost everyone on the planet in 2020. For some, that was carrying less cash in their pocket, for others, using e-commerce or real time payments and payment wallets for the first time.

For most that meant a shift to, or into digital or cashless. But the shift that has happened has meant that payments impacted us during the pandemic. And that impact is not going away any time soon. PayPal are now servicing 377 million customers since 2020, and that number is still rising.

Welcome to 2021. EPA Asia had a productive year in 2020, reaching some fantastic milestones including:
  • 87 Events
  • 6 Projects: Open Banking, Cross-Border Payments, Resilience, Digital ID, Regulations and Meet-Her
  • Membership grown to over 40 members
  • 2 submissions to government

2021 is preparing to be even more jam packed. Already this year we have:
  • A new Engagement Manager, Danelle Denny has come on board to help our members get the most out of EPA Asia.
  • Issued our events schedule for 2021 (available here)

EPAA is excited about the projects we are progressing in 2021:

What sort of events can I access through my EPA Asia memberhip?

EPAA FUSE is a five-event series on a set topic.

These are bite size presentations focusing on education, niche and emerging topics.  The selected topics are evolving, and hence the challenge for the industry to stay up to date. This new format will feature a short presentation in a TED style talk covering ‘what is the latest?’ followed by a 20 minute Q&A on ‘what you want to ask’. There will be a final series session where each of the previous four speakers are invited to debate against each other before the audience is invited into the conversation.

The theme for the first EPA FUSE in 2021 is Digital Currency.

These sessions are for EPA Asia members only, but the session content will be replayed on social media.

Capacity: 20 attendees with video on
